Founded in Bologna in 1937, Moto Morini has never caught on in the United States, despite the Italian marque having a storied history in its home country—MotoGP Legend Giacomo Agostini started his record-breaking racing career on a Moto Morini Settebello in 1961. After a long succession of ownership changes, beginning with the brand’s sale to Cagiva in 1987, Zhongneng Vehicle Group, based in Taizhou, China, acquired the Moto Morini name in 2018. With manufacturing in China and the European Style Center in Trivolzio, Italy, working on the design, Moto Morini is back, and has an American headquarters based in Irvine, California. That brings us to the new 2024 Moto Morini Calibro.
The 2024 Moto Morini Calibro cruiser joins the X-Cape adventure bike and two Seiemmezzo sportbikes in the brand’s offering. All are powered by a 649cc DOHC parallel twin motor featuring Bosch EFI.
The Calibro has many design features that separate it from its siblings, including twin shocks and a traditional fork. Braking is provided by a single disc on each wheel, J.Juan calipers, and Bosch ABS 9.1. Chinese-made Timsun tires are mounted on the alloy wheels, which are an unusual 18-/16-inch pairing. The seat height is an approachable 28.3 inches, while the four-gallon fuel tank means you can sit in the seat for quite a while between visits to the gas station.
We don’t have a price for the 2024 Moto Morini Calibro, or an arrival date in the United States. We have only seen it in the color shown in the photos.
