2016 KTM 690 Duke
Smartly updated for 2016, the KTM 690 Duke has seven-percent more horsepower and a peak torque of six-percent more than the previous edition thanks to a new top end and exhaust.
The torquey single doesn’t have a lot of weight to push around, as the 690 Duke weighs just a claimed 327 pounds dry, making it one of the lightest sport bikes available. The rev range has been broadened by 1000 rpm this year, and there are three power modes, plus an optional Safety Package that includes traction control.
Comfort has been enhanced by the addition of a second counterbalancer, and there’s a new seat and triple clamp. Many Americans discount big thumpers for the street, but the 690 Duke delivers in the canyons, as well as in-town.
