Eighty years ago, MV Agusta built its first motorcycle engine amid World War II—a 98cc single with a two-speed transmission. However, before any motorcycles could be produced, the Allies occupied Italy and halted production. However, when WWII concluded, MV Agusta was able to build the M.V. 98, which was painted burgundy. The M.V. 98 inspires the 2024 MV Agusta Superveloce 98 Edizione Limitata, a considerably more sophisticated motorcycle.
The 2024 MV Agusta Superveloce 98 Edizione Limitata features a livery that recalls the M.V. 98, with the Rosso Verghera paint job that is applied by hand. The pain has a two-component matte base, with a polished top layer with metallic pigments. Racing stripes adorn both sides of the front fairing, tricolore bars accent the top fairing to remind you of its made-in-Italy status, and “98 Edizione Limitata” graphics grace the tail section. The wheels have wire spokes and connect the hubs to aluminum rims.
With 300 editions on offer, each is numbered via laser engraving on the steering plate, and a certificate of authenticity is bestowed on the owner.
Should the owner want to head for the track, a race kit is included, which consists of an Arrow exhaust and racing ECU (North Americans will have to purchase the Arrow exhaust separately). There’s also a tail cover and a dedicated cover.
